1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is Jörg Zeyn, Tartuer Str. 9, 21337 Lüneburg, Germany. Email: joerg@jzeyn.de. See also the legal notice.

2. Overview

This website is a purely informational portfolio. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services, and loads no external fonts, scripts or other third-party content. Personal data is only processed to the extent described below.

3. Hosting with Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps

This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, D18 P521, Ireland ("Microsoft").

When you visit the website, technically necessary data that your browser sends automatically is processed (server log files). This includes in particular: IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This data is required to deliver the website, keep it stable and secure, and prevent abuse. I do not analyze this data myself or combine it with other data.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of the website.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Microsoft in the form of the Microsoft Products and Services Data Protection Addendum. Website content is delivered through a global network, so processing may also take place outside the EU, in particular in the USA by Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR); EU standard contractual clauses are used in addition (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). For more information, see Microsoft's privacy statement.

4. Language selection and browser storage

Automatic language detection: If you open an English page for the first time in a browser session and your browser lists German as its preferred language, you are automatically redirected to the German version of that page. Your language setting is evaluated only locally in your browser and is not sent to me or third parties. So that this detection only happens once per session, the entry "lang-detected" with the value "1" is stored in your browser's session storage. It is deleted automatically when you close the browser tab.

Saved language choice: Only if you actively choose a language with the language switch (EN/DE) is that choice stored in your browser's local storage as "preferred-lang", containing the language code ("en" or "de"). This keeps your choice on your next visit, and no automatic redirect takes place anymore. The entry remains stored until you delete it in your browser settings.

Neither entry is sent to me or third parties. No cookies are set.

Each of these storage operations is strictly necessary to provide the function you requested, namely displaying the website in your language (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG); consent is therefore not required. The legal basis for any processing of personal data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is a user-friendly, multilingual presentation of the website.

5. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, I process the information you provide (e.g. name, email address, message content) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Links to other websites

This website contains links to external services (e.g. XING). These are plain links, not embedded plug-ins; no data is transferred until you click a link. The respective provider is responsible for processing on those sites.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR). Just contact me at the email address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony.
